Jacques Ploschek

One of our longtime members, Jacques Ploschek recently passed away at the age of 90. Many will remember Jacques as the old-timer who shot his .22 single shot rifle and never missed a silhouette match.

In honor of Jacques memory, the September 13th 80 round .22lr match will be held in his honor and all proceeds will be donated to the NWCSA junior marksmanship program.

Jacques Ploschek lived in Litchfield. He was Born: 02/26/1919; Joined NWCSA 03/20/1981; attained Life membership status 3/20/2001.

Larry Koch named Sportsman of the Year

The Northwestern CT Sportsmen’s Association held its 83rd annual banquet on April 3rd at the Crystal Peak banquet facility in Winsted.

The annual gathering brought together members of the local sportsmen’s club that was established in 1927 to honor one of their own. The Peter Holms Trophy for Sportsman of the Year was awarded to Larry Koch. Mr. Koch is a resident of Winsted.

This award is given out annually to the member of the club who best exemplifies a true Sportsman in promoting the outdoor sports and the welfare of the organization. Mr. Koch is chairman of the association’s membership committee at the club located on Route 44 in Colebrook.

Pistol Range Closure

The pistol range will be closed all day on Monday, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14th due to site work being done by Caton Village Construction.
