Rule’s below.

Shotguns: 12 and 20 guage shotguns, full and extra full chokes recommended. Ear and eye protection.

Ammunition: Shooters are supplied with club issued 20 or 12 gauge ammo.

Competition: There are usually 20 shooters per each round.  Participants shoot at 5″x 8″ sheet of paper with a circle with a cross hair through it at a distance of 25 yards.  Each shooter takes one shot at their target.  The BB hole in the target that is closest to the intersection of the cross hairs is the winner of that round.

Cost is $2 per round and $5 per money round, which is a 50/50 split.

benefit the Marine’s “Toys for Tots” charity at it’s range facility in
Colebrook on Sunday Decembember 13th. The Marines were on hand to accept the
entry fee for the shoot which was one unwrapped toy per shooter. Although
many shooters brought more than one gift.
This is one of many shoots for charity that the sportsmens association puts
on throughout the year.

“Toys for Tots” Muzzleloader Shoot
Sunday December 13th – 9am until 1pm

Calling all sportsmen & women:

Whether you hunt, shoot, collect, build, re-enact, or just have an intreast in muzzle loading or not. We ask you to come out and support us to help the Marine Corps. “Toys for Tots Campaign” Help make a child’s Christmas a little brighter.

We will be running a novelty target type shoot open to all muzzleloader. Whether it is a modern scoped in-line or a flintlock with open sights, we will be running different relays beginning at 9am and we anticipate shooting until 1pm or later if there is enough interest. Bring plenty of powder and bullets.

Entrance fee will be a new unwrapped toy. Prizes for shooters will be happy children and bragging rights.

If you never tried your hand at muzzleloading, come out and we will let you try out several different types of rifles.

The Northwestern CT Sportsmen’s Association is a NMLRA Charter Club and will be having a shoot once a month starting in the spring of 2010. We will end the season next year with another “Toys for Tots” shoot.
This shoot will be held at the club’s rifle range facility. The be hot coffee and donuts along with a pot of hot chili, so come out and shoot or socialize and get together with old friends and make new ones.

If you can’t make the shoot but want to support this cause, toys can be dropped off at the association’s club house in Colebrook on route 44 or contact Jason Marshall 860-480-2205 to make arrangements.

He place second in the Springfield Rifle Match with an aggregate score of 291 with 11 “X”s.
He was just edge out of first place by Christopher Hudock with a score of 293 and 6 “X’s

Dave reported that he had a so-so week at Camp Perry overall, but everything clicked for the Springfield match. He said “I cleaned the rapid fire stage, which I’ve never managed to do in competition with my AR. I was in first place after the first day, but a hot shooting junior topped my score the second day. I had my best standing stage of the week with the M1 Garand — I’m thinking maybe I should go back to shooting those old WWII rifles in more matches…

This makes it the second time one of our members has done so well at Camp Perry. Ryan Castonquy won the inaugural M1A Match two yrs ago.

Congratulations to Dave on his 2nd place finish. Well done!

Many will remember Jacques as the old-timer who shot his .22 single shot rifle and never missed a silhouette match.

In honor of Jacques memory, the September 13th 80 round .22lr match will be held in his honor and all proceeds will be donated to the NWCSA junior marksmanship program.

Jacques Ploschek lived in Litchfield. He was Born: 02/26/1919; Joined NWCSA 03/20/1981; attained Life membership status 3/20/2001.
