What is it?
This is a practical rifle match specifically designed for major caliber, manually operated rifles (MORs) or carbines that meet Jeff Cooper’s Scout Rifle criteria. First shot accuracy from a variety of shooting positions and conditions on 4 MOA targets out to 200 yards is required. Larger MORs and semi-automatic rifles and carbines that meet caliber requirements may compete as well.
Your favorite eastern deer rifle and 2 boxes of cartridges will probably work just fine (see requirements below).
This match is specifically not designed for small caliber AR derivatives.

Shooters meeting starts at 9:00AM on the Rifle Range.
What will I need?
2 Divisions
Scout Rifle – any rifle or carbine less than 8lb in weight* and 40” in length*
Conventional Rifle – any rifle or carbine less than 10 lb in weight* and/or 45” in length*
*dimensions include all accessories (magazines, slings, bipods, etc.) used during the match.
Total match round count = 40 rd
Ammunition/calibers requirements:
*Minimum caliber = 6.5 Swedish Mauser/6.5 Creedmore/260 Remington/6.5X47 Lapua, 120 grain bullet minimum
Maximum caliber = 8 mm Mauser/30-06 Springfield/7.62X54R Russian
No steel core/penetrator ammunition allowed, no magnum calibers, no muzzle velocities over 2900 fps
Optics/sights – any optic or open sights, no lasers
How will it work?
Each course of fire (COF) will require various starting and shooting positions and conditions. These will include using various supports (roof tops, berms, etc.), shooting positions (offhand, prone, kneeling) and negotiating obstacles to engage multiple paper and reactive targets from 50 – 200 yards.
Targets:2/3-sized USPSA paper targets
Steel/reactive targets 3 MOA and larger
Scoring = time + penalties (ICORE scoring)
COF 5 rd max
